Even with the red-magenta spectrum in the pic the colours aren't coming up quite the way I see them. I guess that's a lesson in itself . . . and yes, there's also a lesson to be learned in how to adjust my photography, but that will have to be another day.

Gaps
I just spent an hour or so looking through a couple of craft magazines looking for purples. I didn't find a great deal. Unfortunately when I tried to photograph the snippets I found, the camera shifted the colour back towards blue, so I couldn't capture the subtleties of colour. Here's the section of the colour wheel I'm focusing on: Even with the red-magenta spectrum in the pic the colours aren't coming up quite the way I see them. I have a lot of trouble photographing purple without the camera turning it blue. I've been able to make a slight improvement by changing the colour balance, but it is far from good enough from my perspective.
PS - the word verification is "loussi" - as in, "My camera is loussi at capturing purple!"
I'll go with the "loussi":) I picked up a couple of advertising flyers at the supermarket today, hoping that might help to fill in the gaps. So much for avoiding junk mail.
