That's Yellow
Yesterday was a rinsing day. Most of my dyeing from Saturday is still either on the line or in the sink, but this bit of wool top is all ready to go.Now that's what I call yellow! I'm thoroughly convinced that tumeric is a very effective natural dye. Yes, it does still smell a bit like curry. I'm told that a bit of fabric conditioner in the final rinse might help.

Beautiful colour.
Unfortunately turmeric is not a very light-fast dye. You may need to keep whatever you make out of this in the dark.
Yeah, I know--the more I learn about natural dyeing, the more I understand the impetus to develop the synthetic dyes!
Beautiful yellow. I have a thing for yellow actaully :) What are these pieces for?
I'm thinkin' chicken. 3 day old fluffy yellow chick, that I just want to pat.
It's really just a sample to learn about natural dyeing. Some of it will go in my folio and there'll be a bit left over. I did dye some silk as well--will have to think what to do with that.
