Basics
I've been knitting a few face washers as part of my Christmas preparations. They're made with bamboo yarn and the knitting is pretty basic: When I was a new knitter and I heard of people knitting face washers, and even dishcloths, I was incredulous--all that effort! Now I realise how much delight they give my friends and I guess my knitting is quicker and easier than it was a few years ago. I'm willing to make the effort and look foward to the basic pleasure they will give. Face washers that is--I still can't come at knitting dishcloths.

I been busily knitting these too. I'm using the bamboo/soya but also used a bamboo/wool (20%) and it came up beautifully. I am not a knitter, I prefer to crochet however, I think I'm going to have to play with other patterns and the bamboo/wool blend.
I've been doing the facewasher knitting thing too - they're soft & squooshy, & yummy to use. They work up nice & quick, & you can play with different stitches in new & interesting ways.
I can't quite bring myself to knit dishcloths either ... there are some pretty weird & wonderful patterns out there for things like knitted mop covers!
Knitspingirl, you are the initiator of the bamboo face washer as far as I'm concerned. It was you who started my friends saying, "ooohh, that's lovely, could you make me one? !! "
