Sock Progress

I am happy to report that number one sock is finished. I even did the kitchener stitch and wove in the ends right away! And number two sock is on its way.

I'm keen to get it done so I can actually wear the socks. I can certainly see how this could become addictive.

The sock looks so professional.
I am not even going to try to guess what a kitchener stitch is but sewing in the ends is nicely virtuous.
I don't enjoy all the finishing steps and try to avoid the big task at the end by doing as much of it as I go. It doesn't always work but it seems to help... at least that is what I tell myself.
I know the weather has been icky hot but I am not wishing it cold enough to need the wooly socks just yet.

Kitchener stitch is the graft that closes the top of the toe and thankfully there are only two ends to weave in one at the beginning and one at the end, but it was tempting to just cast on again.

Thanks:) One of these days I'll try your favourite jaywalker pattern. For now I'm happily gaining confidence with a plain sock.
