Morning Light
I've been tidying up the kitchen--again . . . still . . . it's one of those perpetual tasks. I came across this little straw flower. I was about to toss it in the bin--it was dry and dusty--but then I had another look and decided to see what my macro lens and a bit of morning light would do.
Now it seems to be glowing with life and I'll hold on to it--at least until the next time I tidy up.

Macro Challenge
I haven't had my SLR camera out much this year. There's a glitch between the software that came with my compact camera and what's needed for the SLR and somehow that issue found itself in the "too hard" basket. But the other day a friend made a fairly casual comment about the flowering street trees and my macro lens. When I went to have a good look at the tree across the road from my house yesterday afternoon, I found that it had nearly finished flowering. So I took up the challenge and spent a happy ten minutes with my macro lens. Here's one of the shots:
I found a cumbersome, but effective way around the software issue, so I was able to upload the images. Now I've had a reminder of the pleasure of focussing in on such little details. I'm going to leave the SLR out on my desk to help my motivation to tackle the software problem.

Three
One more day of walking to tick off! The dogs are now at the stage of anticipating their outing and looking out for any clues that I might be about to put on my walking shoes. They are so good for my motivation. How could I refuse those joyous woofs and wagging tails!
As for take-home beauty, I picked this sprig of lavender:
No walk today. I'm off to the Wool Show at Bendigo. I need to walk out of the house before 7 am. I'm rarely out of my bedroom by 7 am these days, so it's a bit of an effort, but it should be a great day.

Note to self: I don't need any more fleeces! Oooh, well, . . . maybe just one?
