It's the twelfth day of Christmas today--or maybe that was yesterday. I haven't made twelve of anything, but I did make a couple of these roses earlier as Christmas gifts. Today I made just one more. That finished this particular hand-dyed cotton yarn.
And in case you're wondering, yes, I'm still in holiday-go-slow mode.

Slow
I'm still spinning the "red rock" wool-silk. There's a bit of it in the pic unspun and draped randomly with something green.
The green is my pigface. I'm still waiting for it to grow enough to be transplanted into the garden. Overall progress is slow. I guess life's like that sometimes, but I'm not the world's most patient person.

Home Day
I took a slow day at home yesterday. The weather was wintry and my energy levels were low. My one outing was to pick up some cardboard boxes to house some of my textile stuff:
I had vague thoughts of organising and packing, but they remained merely good intentions. A bit of crochet, a bit of reading, a bit of spinning and dyeing and the day was over. I think I've managed to store up enough energy to last through today's commitments.

Slow Start
I've made a slow start today after a disturbed night. I spent most of the morning sitting in my favourite armchair by the window, but I can't do that all day. So to get myself going I plied off the Eucalyptus dyed wool-silk which I spun up last week. Here it is on the bobbin:
I've kept it soft, but there's plenty of twist to hold it together and a bit of a fluffy halo to set off the sheen of the silk.
Now what to do with the rest of a slow day? I was thinking I'd take the train into the city and buy the tuning fork I need for my mandolin lesson this evening. I could take some knitting and do as much or as little as I like. On the other hand, the local news tells me there's been a three hour power outage on the City Loop this morning. Perhaps I'd better avoid the trains. Looks like I'm not the only one whose had a slow start to the day, and I'm guessing mine was less frantic and frustrating than the commuters' and Metro staff.

Slow, Slow, Slow!
I'm having a slow morning. I think I've had enough sleep. Honestly, it's hard to tell when insomnia is my middle name, but I've had a few decent nights without extra medication, and that's about as good as it gets. I've had a nice breakfast and better than average coffee. I have plenty of things on the "to do" list and plans to catch up with a friend later in the day. The sun is shining, and it's not too hot. Nevertheless, I'm feeling unmotivated and slow. I guess that's just how it is today.
Yesterday I finished off the hand stitching on Bunny Rug #1, despite being less than thrilled with the fabric. It's done. Now I have Bunny Rug #2 all ready to go:
I've used spray adhesive to layer the two fabrics together. I've stitched around the edge and trimmed it all square. I've cut the binding strips. Next step is to join the binding strips to make a continuous length, then fold, press and stitch it around the edge. And this is fabric that makes me smile, so hopefully I can get going on that today.
