Done

The Noro Sekku triangle scarf is done.

I'm still a bit unsure about it. With all those different colours it should be versatile, but there isn't an overall colour story that appeals to me. I guess I'll just have to try it and see.

Transitions

Last weekend I was calling this my penance knitting.

Now I've knitted my way through the muddy-purple, tomato-red, mint- and kermit-green. I'm starting to get flecks of blue. A couple of people have commented on how Japanese the colour scheme is! I think it's growing on me.

As It Comes

I'm knitting away at the Noro Sekku yarn in odd moments of the day. I'm knitting from the centre of the ball, so I don't know what's coming next. The stripes should get narrower as the triangle gets wider. All of that gives it enough interest to keep me happy.

And when I get tired of dealing with twisty snarly slubby yarn, then I know it's time to put it down and do something else.

Take 2

I don't want my Noro Sekku yarn to end up in the bottom of a box somewhere, so I'm trying something else right away.

• 3 mm metal circular needle
• a yarn-over increase at the beginning of each row
• garter stitch, so the bias shouldn't be a problem
• and it just happened to start with my favourite colour.

I'm hoping it will be my new carry-along project.
